Hot Mic protects the user at all costs. This policy is written to that standard.

What we collect

• Account info: email and the role you choose (service member, veteran, first responder, family, supporter).
• What you tell Sarge Six: voice and text conversations, Mission Planning entries, Story Vault recordings, Legacy Builder letters.
• Subscription status from Apple. We never see your card number; Apple processes payments.
• Basic device and usage data needed to run and secure the app.
• On this website: anything you submit (Wall of Honor names, voice messages, email signups). Before launch, most of this stays on your device.

What we never do

• We do not sell your data. Ever.
• We do not use your conversations or stories for advertising.
• We do not share your data with the VA, DoD, your command, or your employer unless you tell us to, or the law requires it.
• [Confirm with engineering: whether conversations are used to train AI models. Recommended: no.]

Voice and Story Vault

Recordings are private to you by default. You can export or delete them anytime. [Retention period and encryption details TBD.]

Safety

Sarge Six is a companion, not a clinician. If a conversation shows signs of imminent danger, the app will surface the Veterans Crisis Line (988, press 1). [Counsel to define any escalation or disclosure practice.]

Public submissions

Wall of Honor names and voice messages you mark public are reviewed by a person before anyone sees or hears them. Leave out last names, phone numbers, and private details.

Your rights

Access, correct, export, or delete your data by contacting us. Deleting your account deletes your content within [X] days, except what the law requires us to keep. [State privacy law rights, e.g. CCPA, TBD.]

Children
